Alopecia Areata Foundation partners with HealthShare

Press Release — January, 2013.

The Australian Alopecia Areata Foundation is now partnering with HealthShare to deliver an Alopecia Areata topic page.

The condition is characterised by bald patches that appear on the scalp and other areas of the body in suffers.

Chel Campbell, president of the Association said: “Alopecia Areata is not well known without broader community, mostly hear about it when they or a family member is diagnosed with the disease. As there is no cure, the suggested treatments and professional opinions vary on treatment. The Australia Alopecia Areata Foundation Inc. (AAAF) is placed to partner with HealthShare to provide an additional forum for the community to receive up-to-date answers to the questions, obtain accurate information online, and to receive support from others in similar situations”.

Consumers can now visit the topic page to ask their questions about the disease and Australian Dermatologists, other health practitioners and AAAF will respond to them with free information. Additionally, patients can find a health practitioner to assist them further by searching through HealthShare’s comprehensive directory.
