Leading healthcare software company MedicalDirector has released its version 4.0, delivering a deeper integration of the HealthShare Referrals directory within its core GP referral-writing workflow. Since the release of 4.0 in December, MedicalDirector has seen strong uptake with over 1,000 practices already updating to the latest version.
Since 2014 HealthShare, an accredited MedicalDirector Marketplace Partner, and MedicalDirector have partnered to deliver tools that assist GPs to deliver optimal care for their patients, through the FactSheets and Referrals product offerings. Critical to the success of the partnership is the collaboration to deliver clinical tools in a streamlined GP user experience.
In the MedicalDirector Clinical 4.0 release, which is now available, the HealthShare Referrals directory is part of the core referral workflow when the GP is creating a specialist referral letter. The HealthShare directory will also continue to be available as a sidebar widget within MedicalDirector Clinical, as it has been since 2014.
HealthShare’s directory includes comprehensive and up-to-date information about both private practising specialists and allied health providers, and includes detailed information about a provider’s specialty, sub-specialties, special interest areas, practice locations, hospital affiliations, languages spoken and short biography.
In addition, the directory allows GPs to search for specialists who participate in “No Gap” and “Known Gap” arrangements, with 29 private health insurers including HCF, nib, member funds of the Australian Health Service Alliance and member funds of the Australian Regional Health Group.
Speaking about the enhanced integration, Louise Ryves, General Manager – Ecosystem, MedicalDirector said, “Our GP users consistently give us great feedback on the HealthShare directory, particularly the breadth and depth of specialist information. We are excited that this capability is now within the core referral workflow to allow GPs to more seamlessly refer. The Referrals directory assists GPs to identify the right specialist for their patients’ individual circumstances.”
HealthShare co-founder, Rami Weiss, said, “We have been a trusted partner of MedicalDirector since 2014 and are continually seeking to collaborate on new innovations that can improve clinical workflows for its GPs and practice staff. With GPs under constant time pressure, we also ensure that our products can save GPs time and deliver them the right health information for the moment of care.”
